The Lower New River Gorge (Class III-IV) is a classic whitewater adventure that you don’t want to miss! From intense high water runs in the spring and fall, featuring roller-coaster wave trains and giant holes, to the more technical challenge of summer levels where surfing is king and getting wet is part of the fun. We’ll make sure you walk away with a smile before setting foot on dry land at the end of your trip.

We offer half and full-day trips so you can find a trip that works for you. Minimum age 14 (12 and up permitted depending on river conditions).

Is Time on Your Side?
If not, try the Lower New River Gorge Express trip and you’ll get all the bang of a full-day Lower New in a shorter half-day format. Ready, set, go! We don’t mess around on this one heading straight for the biggest rapids of the New River Gorge. More than a dozen Class III, IV, and V’s!

An Old Story…
The New River has existed for more than 160 million years and is second only to the Nile as the oldest river in the world. It runs north for 320 miles where it meets the Ohio River and continues its 700-mile journey to the Gulf of Mexico. The New River Gorge is one of the most biologically diverse areas in North America with more than 1200 species of plants and animals thriving in and around the vicinity.
